PMO Lead

Future Opportunity — Not Currently Hiring

Position Overview

The PMO Lead is responsible for establishing, managing, and continuously improving project delivery standards, governance practices, reporting frameworks, and operational processes across NOCDOC.

This role enables consistent execution of client-facing and internal initiatives by providing project governance, portfolio visibility, resource coordination, delivery standards, and continuous improvement practices across technical teams including Service Desk, NOC, SOC, Engineering, Automation & Integration, and Professional Services.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-minded, and comfortable reviewing technical work without necessarily performing it — someone who can recognize when a ticket has been handled correctly, documented well, and closed appropriately, and who can clearly communicate gaps back to the teams responsible.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with experience in technology services environments and understands how infrastructure, cybersecurity, managed services, and operational teams collaborate to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

PMO Governance & Delivery Standards

  • Establish and maintain project management frameworks, standards, templates, workflows, and delivery methodologies
  • Define project lifecycle expectations including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, transition, and closure
  • Establish consistent project documentation requirements including project plans, schedules, risks, decisions, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Ensure projects follow appropriate governance practices based on complexity, client impact, security requirements, and business importance
  • Promote repeatable delivery practices across technical and business teams

Project Portfolio Management

  • Maintain organizational visibility into active projects, priorities, timelines, resource requirements, and delivery risks
  • Manage project intake processes and assist leadership with prioritization of competing initiatives
  • Provide leadership reporting on project health, milestones, risks, financial considerations, and resource capacity
  • Identify project conflicts, dependencies, and delivery constraints before they impact outcomes
  • Support strategic planning by providing insight into project workload, delivery trends, and organizational capacity

Technical Project Delivery Support

  • Partner with Technical Project Managers, Engineering teams, NOC, SOC, Service Desk, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
  • Support delivery of infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, automation, and managed services initiatives
  • Ensure technical teams have appropriate project requirements, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder alignment
  • Support project transitions into operational support teams by ensuring documentation, procedures, ownership, and readiness requirements are completed
  • Promote operational readiness practices to ensure delivered solutions can be effectively supported after implementation

Risk, Issue, Change & Dependency Management

  • Establish processes for identifying, tracking, escalating, and resolving project risks and issues
  • Ensure project changes are properly evaluated, documented, approved, and communicated
  • Coordinate dependency management across internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders
  • Support change management practices aligned with operational requirements and service stability
  • Identify opportunities to reduce delivery risk through improved planning, communication, and process maturity

Client Engagement & Communication

  • Support consistent client communication practices throughout project delivery
  • Assist project teams with stakeholder communication, status reporting, and expectation management
  • Ensure project reporting clearly communicates progress, risks, decisions, and required actions
  • Support customer success initiatives by improving delivery transparency and client experience

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze project performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain project management procedures, templates, and knowledge resources
  • Facilitate lessons learned activities and incorporate improvements into future delivery practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, workflows, and project efficiency
  • Promote continuous improvement across project delivery teams

Security, Compliance & Control Alignment

  • Ensure projects involving technology platforms, infrastructure, or security services consider applicable security requirements and operational controls
  • Support alignment of project activities with security frameworks and industry practices including CIS Controls, NIST Cybersecurity Framework concepts, and organizational security requirements
  • Ensure project documentation supports operational accountability, audit readiness, and evidence requirements where applicable
  • Partner with Compliance & Risk, SOC, NOC, and Engineering teams when projects impact security posture, access controls, monitoring, or operational processes

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing project management processes, PMO functions, or technical project delivery environments

  • Ability to identify risks, drive accountability, and coordinate cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP), technology consulting, SaaS, cybersecurity, or professional services organization
  • Experience managing technical project portfolios across multiple customers
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, or enterprise technology projects
  • Experience with project management platforms, PSA tools, or workflow management systems
  • Experience with ITIL, Agile, PMI, or similar project delivery methodologies
  • Experience supporting compliance-driven environments or security-focused initiatives

Preferred Certifications (preferred but not required; equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered)
